Welcome to Sharpening shop J. M. van Rangelrooij

Slijperij J. M. van Rangelrooij was established in The Hague since 1894. This family owned company has, during this time, elevated the craft of knife sharpening to an art form.
Elwin de Veld continues this tradition of the craft since 1994 and has a large clientele that can rely on his professional expertise.
Chef’s knives from renowned restaurants in the greater metropolitan area are sharpened in his workshop on a daily basis. The shop carries a broad range of premium quality chef’s knives.

We focus primarily on professional chefs but individuals are more than welcome too.

Opening hours:

Monday to Friday from 09.00 to 17.00 hours. We are closed on Saturdays.

Worldwide awarded chef Massimo Bottura, from Italy's best restaurant Osteria Francescana, welcomes Slijperij JM van Rangelrooij into his kitchen in Modena.

In 2016, the Dutch team, consisting of Chef Jan Smink, Commis Sander Verhaaf and Coach Lars Aukema, qualified for the world finals of the prestigious Bocuse d’Or culinary contest in Lyon in 2017. Slijperij J.M. van Rangelrooij will be there!
